I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anyone to be run over before this.

It is bad. It is also ass.
Not the kind of ‘bad ass’ they wanted, but there it is.

I’m so sorry officer. I sneezed and my foot slipped on the throttle.... and now there’s blood everywhere... so much blood.

i would love to see them mess up and scratch a peg on a parked car. 1,000,000 dollars says they would just pretend it didn’t happen.

I gotta admit.
That’s pretty badass.
I’d be pretty pissed if someone did this to me, but I’d probably just laugh and shake my head in disbelief. When you’re an adrenaline junky, but you don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on motorcycles, planes, or trips around the world, you make due. Although I really hope they don’t cause an accident (which they probably have), I don’t wish any ill-will on them. It’s a lot less destructive than some of things I did in my youthful years in order to get an adrenaline fix.

Yeah it’s stupid. It’s kind of cool when there aren’t other victims.Slow-mo tire flex, nice. They’re kind of depending on the awareness and generosity of others.
“Sorry for running you over bro wasn’t looking much, but have you seen McMike’s Above The LOL series? Hilarious.”
I’d love to see the fails. Those rims probably break often.

Ok, fine. I’ll admit that there was some skill involved. So why am I still mad?
It’s the unpredictability, and how they’re daring other traffic to stop or slow down. What a bunch of jerks.

Explanation:
Modern humans have existed for at least 200,000 years. We’ve had agriculture for, debatably, the last quarter of that, and its only in the last couple hundred years that we haven’t had to worry about living off the land. We don’t struggle anymore, not like our ancestors did. We don’t have to worry about being stalked by saber-toothed cats, or predators the size of a semi truck. We don’t have to worry about getting the crops in before the frost, lest we starve over the winter.
We don’t have to struggle, but we’re still built for it. What do you do when you have a Challenger Hellcat, but all the roads around you are 55 mph? What do you do when you have a computer in your pocket more powerful than a “supercomputer” from two decades ago? Your body, your mind, are built for survival, but you don’t need to use that ability.
So you court death. You flaunt your ability to perform tasks within the slimmest margins of safety. Simply because you can. You push the envelope. You flirt with destruction.
Because to not do so, feels like a waste.

The maneuvers are impressive and cool. Doing it with oncoming traffic however is stupid and is going to cause accidents if it hasn’t already. Someone is going to jam on their brakes or serve right to try to avoid killing some kid and end up getting hit from behind or running into something/someone next to them.

Yeah, it definitely isn’t smart, and there’s a whole lotta risk of other people getting hurt. I’m not saying I agree with what they’re doing or that I condone it, simply that I understand it. Sometimes you do what you gotta do to get your rocks off, for better or for worse. I would never make a video glorifying it though. When being rowdy as a kid, we didn’t do it for the “likes”, we did it because it seemed liked the less destructive option. We mostly just purposefully got into fights, which was a lot more destructive than this.

I get the need to get your rocks off, I get the seductive call of adrenaline and the desire to test and push your limits, hell, that’s the lion’s share of why I’m a rally co-driver. I think being able to choose to take those risks and push those limits is a good thing And I support it. But here’s the thing, forcing the unaware and unprepared to be a part of your thrill seeking takes away THEIR right to choose, and that’s unacceptable. Sure, you intentionallyvgot into fights, but at least in those all parties chose to be involved. It’s the same reason I don’t tolerate street racing. You have the right to choose to take risks in your life, you don’t have the right to take away that choice from others.

This is idiotic, but the other side of it is that at least it’s kids riding bikes instead of playing video games or doing meth. Some of these guys might channel some skill into a sponsored ride, who knows. Kind of cool to see that wheel deflect.

I completely agree. Growing up in dense urban environments makes it difficult to do dangerous things without affecting others, but I think part of the thrill with this type of activity is that it does affect others, so there’s no excuse. As far as some of the things I did, we were most definitely doing it because of it’s effect on others, so I was just as much a shit head as these kids. We definitely had a do or die, fuck society mentality about it. It does take two to tango, but baiting people you don’t like into fighting when you have training (and a blood lust) it beyond shitty (like, we probably should have been locked up, shitty).
I guess what I’m saying is I have the same tendencies as these kids, have acted on them, and it would be hypocritical of me to shit on them. There’s still apart of me that wants to just run amok, so I can’t wish harm on them (which is weird, because I doubt they give a shit if they get hurt/killed as I didn’t before I had kids).
There’s no excuse for the behavior, but I also can’t think of a different outlet for these types of impulses. You really do just have to bottle them up. I got into hardcore music and punk rock which helped a lot, but it was more of an excuse to be aggressive, not a cure for it. Organized martial arts didn’t give enough of a rush because you knew you weren’t really in serious danger. I got into motorcycles as an outlet, but I definitely wasn’t insulated from other people. Now I just find ways to calm myself down (hiking, camping, wrenching, coaching kids soccer, drinking...) as the stakes for myself and those I care about are too high.
